Took Christian and Nora (and Kaylan) to the KISS 106.1 Jingle Bell Bash today. Christian has been coming to concerts for 7 years now. He’s seen a lot of shows and been up close & personal to a lot of bands. It never ceases to faze him. He’s on a first name basis with many huge musicians and it just seems normal to him. I love his energy and personality that also causes a lot of my friends to be drawn to him too.

Today, Nora went to her first concert. While in the womb, she would respond to the sounds of Paramore unlike any other band. They were the headliners of the show. Even more exciting, I was able to arrange a personal meeting with the members. Even Christian, who is typically indifferent when it comes to music, said that Hayley of Paramore had a really good voice. I think he thought it was pretty cool to see a singer from a band who was of the opposite sex.

I always feel pretty lucky to be able to share my experiences with my kids. I tend to ask myself a lot “who am I, and why do I deserve to have these experiences?” Even if I am self-doubting at times, it is really cool to be able to take my little ones behind the scenes and have them look up to artists.
